Improving products to meet demand – Customer demands and requirements, tighter regulation and innovations have all led to the creation of the Rentokil Technical Centre. The Centre examines solutions and services for customers to provide best practice solutions for our technicians, scientists and regulatory experts. The centre has engineering, chemistry and analytical labs, where products and equipment are tested, analysed and developed to provide the ultimate solution for the job.

Streamlining operations – City Link continues to target productivity improvements. To cut turnaround times from 20 mins to 4 mins it is phasing out hard-sided trailers in favour of curtain-siders. This enables fork lift trucks to load and unload lorries faster, getting them back on the road in a fraction of the time. The project is expected to give annualised benefits of approx £5 million per annum once fully operational in 2010.

Improving customer service – Our Australian washrooms business is focusing their attention on customer service, restoring accountability at branch level with the introduction of additional supervisors and technicians. They have been introduced across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and are being supported by new ‘Customer Care Executives’. As a result, revenue and profits are on a rising trend.

Rentokil enters North African market – Rentokil has secured its first major contract in North Africa. With operations in 46 countries worldwide, the contract with the department of Housing and Utilities in Libya, sees Rentokil continuing to expand its geographical reach, following recent successes in the Balkans and China.
