Health & Safety

Rentokil Initial believes that safeguarding the health and safety of colleagues, customers and others with whom it interacts is of paramount importance. Rentokil Initial believes that effective health and safety management is central to the success of our business and specifically to deliver operational excellence and outstanding customer service.

In 1999, the board of Rentokil Initial adopted a group-wide Health and Safety Policy. This has been updated since, most recently in 2009. The Health and Safety Policy requires all businesses worldwide to implement an effective health and safety management system which complies with applicable local legislation, the group’s health and safety management requirements and meets our customers’ health and safety requirements and expectations.

The global health and safety scorecard reporting and assurance process was first introduced across the group in 2007. All businesses are required to report on the status and implementation of their H&S management systems by maintaining their H&S scorecard. Now implemented across most of the group, the process has significantly increased the management focus on H&S and is driving performance improvements across the group.
