Colleague Engagement
Colleague engagement in Rentokil Initial is about unlocking colleague’s potential at work and encouraging them to go that extra mile for colleagues and customers. It ensures there is a confidential, annual, colleague voice and that the organisation acts with integrity.
In Rentokil Initial, colleague engagement is fully aligned to the company’s values of Service, Relationships and Teamwork. The annual survey, called Your Voice Counts, provides an opportunity for all colleagues to express their views, confidentially. It measures alignment (do colleagues know what to do and how to do it), engagement (do colleagues want to do it) and enablement (are colleagues able to do it).
This programme started in autumn 2006, in the Rentokil and Ambius businesses with 4,171 employees responding to “Your Voice Counts”. In 2009 the entire company took part across 52 countries with materials produced in 38 languages – over 60% of colleagues responded. In some divisions over 90% responded.

Taking Action
As a result of the extensive level of response over 1,200 local team manager reports are generated, each delivering an action plan for local improvements.
