Rentokil Initial plc today announces the launch of Eliminair, a next-generation, multi-catch rodent control system. Developed following six years of research, innovation and field trials by Rentokil’s in-house scientists and innovators, Eliminair represents a breakthrough in automated, sustainable pest management, providing commercial customers with 24/7 real-time connected monitoring and protection.

Bigger Rats and Rising Rat Populations

Global rat populations are rising, driven significantly by climate change, changing urban environments and greater availability of food. Warmer seasons allow rodent breeding cycles to extend year-round. As a result, pest management professionals are encountering larger rodents and hence the demand for a larger, more robust and more sophisticated control solution.

Designed to handle even the largest of rats, Eliminair has been tested up to around 700 grams, well above the typical average of 300 to 350 grams for the main urban pest species, the brown rat.

100% Chemical-Free and Category-A Humane Performance

Eliminair is completely rodenticide free, using high-pressure air rather than toxic chemicals and aligns with strict food safety HACCP standards.

Featuring a trigger time of under 50 milliseconds, the system delivers a 100% dispatch rate while exceeding NoCheRo and Swedish EPA ‘Category A’ humane standards. With four times the catch capacity of standard traps and secure internal carcass containment, Eliminair minimises costly downtime and service visits.

Breakthrough Engineering and Behavioural Design

Eliminair features three specialised sensors to verify the rat is in the precise position before triggering, paired with a proprietary air-powered dispatch mechanism protected by patents across more than 30 countries.

Its entrance steps and grip texture were uniquely shaped through extensive behavioural analysis to guide rats naturally into the device, whilst side grill openings allow ambient light and the scent of any bait to attract rodents inside. Controlled lab testing shows Eliminair is 57% more attractive to rodents compared to leading competitive multi-trap units**.

The product is exclusive to Rentokil and launches in the UK this month before launching globally in 2027.

Seamless digital connectivity for automatic alerts

As part of Rentokil’s connected device growth strategy, Eliminair connects wirelessly via LoRaWAN to provide customers with 24/7 monitoring and data tracking via the myRentokil customer portal. Built with durable materials to deliver IK-10-tested impact resistance and up to 36 months of battery life, Eliminair is engineered for reliable indoor and outdoor commercial field deployment.
