1 – Supplemental Privacy Notice for Residents of California

The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) affords certain rights to verified California residents regarding their Personal Information as described in this Section.

1.1 If you are a California resident, you may have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) related to your Personal Information as described below and subject to limited exceptions.

1.1.1 Know: You may request that we disclose to you the personal information we have collected, including the categories of personal information, the categories of sources, the purpose for collecting, selling, sharing, the categories of third parties to whom we have disclosed personal information and the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

1.1.2 Deletion: You may request that we delete any of your Personal Information that we have collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service providers to complete the transaction for which we collected the Personal Information, detect security incidents, protect against illegal activity, or comply with a legal obligation, including records retention requirements.

1.1.3 Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information. We may take into account the nature of the personal information and the purposes of processing the information when determining whether to complete or deny your request. We will take commercially reasonable efforts to correct inaccurate personal information.

1.1.4 Access: You may request, twice in a 12-month period, that we disclose to you the categories and/or specific pieces of personal information that we collect, use, disclose, and may sell.

1.1.5 Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information: Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information: Rentokil Terminix does not use or disclose customers’ sensitive personal information for purposes other than those listed in the table below. Sensitive personal information is only used as reasonably necessary to provide services to you, prevent, detect, and investigate security incidents, to maintain safety, to prevent illegal actions or as required by law, for short-term uses required to perform business, and for purposes required for employment. It is not sold or shared. If you are a California applicant or employee, please see our Employee Notice.

1.1.6 Opt-Out of Sharing: You may request to opt out of the sharing of your data. You may also opt out of cookies by managing your cookie settings. We do not sell personal information. We do not knowingly collect the personal information of people under the age of 16.

1.1.7 Applicants and Employees: You may request our employee privacy policy and submit requests through the means provided below.

1.1.8 Non-discrimination Right

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. Unless permitted by the CCPA, we will not:

  • Deny you goods or services.
  • Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties.
  • Provide you with a different level or quality of goods or services.
  • Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.
  • Treat employees, applicants, or independent contractors differently.

  • Sensory data, such as records of calls to our customer service center
  • Professional or employment related information
  • Inferences about you

We may collect the following categories of sensitive personal information about you:

  • Social Security number (if financing)
  • Account log-in and credentials
  • Precise Geolocation

1.3 Sources of Personal Information

We collect or create personal information about you through the sources outlined in Section 3 in the Privacy Notice.

1.4 Purposes for using your Personal Information

We may use personal information about you for purposes outlined in Section 4 in the Privacy Notice.

1.5 Selling, Sharing, and Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

We may share personal information about you for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may have shared with third parties the following categories of personal information in the preceding twelve (12) months: identifiers. We may share personal information within the Rentokil Initial 1927 PLC Business, for example, when you request a pest control service through RentokilTerminix, your area may be serviced by our business through one of our companies with different branding.

1.6 Verifiable Request

Only you, or someone legally authorized to act on your behalf may make a verifiable consumer request related to your personal information.

A verifiable consumer request must:

  • Provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected Personal Information or an authorized representative.
  • Describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it.
  • If your authorized agent submits a request on your behalf, we will require your authorized agent to provide proof that you authorized the request, and we will require you to verify your identity directly with us.
  • We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm the personal information relates to you. We will only use personal information provided in a verifiable consumer request to verify the requestor’s identity or authority to make the request.

1.7 Response Timing and Format

We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If we require more time (up to 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.

1.8 California’s “Shine the Light” law

California Civil Code § 1798.83 permits you to request certain information about our disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make a request, you must email us at: [email protected] or 888-806-6908

1.9 Retention Practices

We store personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to carry out the purposes for which we originally collected it, and of other purposes required for conducting business with you, including meeting legal and regulatory requirements.

2 – Supplemental Privacy Notice for Residents of Virginia

The Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (Code of Virginia § 59.1) is effective on January 1, 2023.

If you are a Virginia resident, you may have certain rights under the CDPA related to your Personal Data as described below, subject to limited exceptions. Personal Data means any information that is linked or reasonably linked to an identifiable natural person.

2.1 Confirm and Access: You may request we confirm whether or not we process your personal data. You may request access to your personal data, up to two times a year.

2.2 Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal data. We may take into account the nature of the personal information and the purposes of processing the information when determining whether to complete or deny your request.

2.3 Deletion: You may request that we delete any of your Personal Information that we have collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions. We may deny your deletion request if retaining the information is necessary for us or our service providers to complete the transaction for which we collected the Personal Information, detect security incidents, protect against illegal activity, or comply with a legal obligation.

2.4 Obtain data in a portable format: You may request that we provide your personal data in a portable format to be transmitted to another company, to the extent technically feasible.

2.5 Opt-Out of processing: You may request that we opt you out of processing your personal data for targeted advertising.

2.6 Appeal: You may appeal a denied request through the same methods a consumer request is provided. Within 60 days of receiving the appeal, we will provide a written explanation of any actions taken or not taken in response to the appeal.

2.7 Verifiable Request
